Looking Back

I was going through my old posts from February last year and two years ago. Boy have things changed! I can't believe what I wrote two years ago about my now ex-boyfriend! here's the link to that post. Metalchick: I Finally Have a Boyfriend! Of course I have learned from that experience, there's nothing wrong with meeting someone from the internet, but...DO NOT go out with them until you've met "in person" first! It wasn't just the fact that he called me every single day that bothered me, but half of the topics in his conversations were not interesting to me, such as WWE Wrestling. He also almost ruined my love for the band Rage Against the Machine. Not only does he love the band, but he LOVES that band! He is so obsessed with them that every few seconds in his conversations, he'd shout out "Rage!" like he had tourettes syndrome (no offense to anyone with that condition) Anyways, I bring up these topics to reflect on what I have learned so that I don't make the same mistakes again. I had a friend in the past that lived with me for 8 months. She was a former co-worker from Mcdonald's and needed a place to stay, so I asked my parents and we let her in. I'm not going into details, but all I can say is before she came in my life, I had a job, a bank account, no record, good credit, and I was going to college full-time. She's long gone now and I have not seen or spoken to her and I hope to keep it that way. But there's a quote that I heard from the show Law & Order SVU that I remember because it's the truth, and that quote is "There's nothing you can do about the past, we can only move foward into the future." I don't know if those were the exact words, but it does make a good point. Whatever I have done in the past is done and over with. I can't go back and erase it or fix it, but I can do right in the present and the future. Still, it's gonna take a lot of hard work to rebuild what I used to have.
